a tax write off isnt really worth that much. it might save you what 40% of the value of the car max? why not just sell it? or give it to someone who needs it

BECAUSE YOU CAN GET "BOOK VALUE" FOR A CAR THAT'S NOT EVEN RUNNING. IN FACT I KNOW OF PEOPLE WHO WILL PAY $300 FOR A PIECE OF CRAP AND GET A $2500 WRITE OFF WHEN THEY DONATE IT. @ 40% THAT'S A NICE $1OOO SAVINGS LESS THE $300 OR MAYBE EVEN $200 AND YOU NET $700-4800 FOR BASICALLY DOING NOTHING.
